I sort of let this blog idea die a bit didn't I... Been busy with quite a lot of things, and also every single post, laden with rushed, poor grammar, was made during some heavy procrastination. After I'd finished whatever revision or essay I'd been plagued with, I went silent here. Maybe some day I'll post again (I think I have, like, two more vinyls, and that was a stretch on the wallet)
but for now, keep it real, believe in bigfoot and check out my main blog:

NOT VINYL...? Cassettes- honourable mention
Yes the title is 'vinyl in nude,' but can you resist some completely unclothed cassettes? They've buddies with humans for a wee while, and, for me at least, carry a lot of nostalgia with them. My Dad used to record loads of his records to cassette to listen to in the car, and I received from him, age 5, Rancid's ...And out come the Wolves, which would change my life forever (am now a punx i think) cheers pop.
Anyway, cassettes have made quite a revival recently. Here are some more recent ones that I've bought.
The New Tusk- Tropical (1st EP on Close to Home Records) and Monster Trucks (3rd EP on Get Into It Records) I always go on about these guys. They're probably the band I have seen live the most. I like the consistency with certain designs, like the wave logo, font, and this red green & blue bit, while the photos used are cool- that kid on Monster Trucks is on the cover as well, but only when there's a hole in the middle of his face do those eyes take on a creepy feel. Hear the New Tusk here https://thenewtusk.bandcamp.com/
Happy Diving- Big World, Art is Hard Records. A nice simple design- hard to go wrong with a block of red plastic. Art is Hard are pretty rad, a lot of good bands and projects going on there. Hear Happy Diving here https://happydiving.bandcamp.com/
Woah Nows- Life in Reverse/ Watching Accidents single. Now, I'm not sure how I feel about buying a cassette that has only two songs on, but I was pretty impressed with them live at UNFUNFEST 2014, so I caved. I'm pretty sure the lettering and smile (can't you see it?) Is hand painted... Maybe tippex. Hear them here https://woahnows.bandcamp.com/
THC (Te Ache Ce)- Epish, Let them Die Records. I think this EP from Argentinian hardcore punk band THC was a limited run of 40 copies, probably why the title and lettering is done by hand in marker. And, of course a band called 'THC' would choose green as the colour for their cassette... Hear them here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlUe_xZj4Rw&feature=youtu.be
Doe- Sooner. I also got this at UNFUNFEST 2014, along with another Doe record, also featured on this blog. I keep seeing this sort of baby pink on a lot of punk cassettes. It just makes me wants a cake with pink icing. Hear Doe here https://soundcloud.com/doetheband

Doe/ Taxa split 7-inch
Doe/ Taxa split. Picked this one up at UNFUNFEST September 2014, when I saw Doe play. I must say I don't know much about Taxa other than the song on this record by them. Hear Doe here https://soundcloud.com/doetheband
and Taxa here https://taxa.bandcamp.com/
Interesting that the purple is spattered with white and blue, but only very slightly.
Cool design around the edge of the centre. Simple, but separates the purple and the black nicely.

Bloody Knees- Stitches EP
Bloody Knees- Stitches. Again, pretty sure translucent yellow wasn't the only option. Hear Bloody Knees here https://soundcloud.com/bloodyknees
I've always really liked the Bloody Knees logo- sort of DIY comic & skater kid. Find it kind of jarring next to the very large, very formal lettering though.
Milk Teeth- Sad Sack
Milk Teeth- Sad Sack. These guys are from where i'm from (well some of them at least I think) in Stroud. I also reviewed this record for seeingyourscene.com , a DIY music journalism website you should definitely check out. Hear Milk Teeth here https://milkteethpunx.bandcamp.com/
I have the worst sweet tooth in the world, so when I look at this, I want to eat it. From the beaded lettering, to the pink theme, to the incredible black and pink paint-splatter job on white, this disc is probably the most vibrant record I own.
U.K Subs- Brand New Age
U.K Subs- Brand New Age. This was a gift from a couple of my housemates- thanks guys!
I'll probably end up posting a fair few U.K Subs stuff here, as they frequently made interesting looking vinyl (B4 IT WAS KWL) Hear Brand New Age, their second album, here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sZL9JFdud0
I find this one a bit wierd; the clear vinyl's really interesting (yellowing a bit) but it still looks really industrial, with the giant record logo on it.

Gnarwolves (S/T)
Gnarwolves (S/T)- this is their first album. Hear all of these Brighton punkers stuff here https://soundcloud.com/gnarwolves
I've got a plain black copy, not sure if there are other colours out there. I really enjoy these little skull dudes, with the hole in the record (the record-hole?) being one of their eyes. Interesting illustration overlayed on photo as well.

A side photo featuring the Gnarwolves boys (Gnarboys?) holding their debut EP, CRU.
Is that a gun...?
